Fajita Fiesta - Santa Fe Tex-Mex Grill

Fajita Fiesta

Hungry? Feast on all-you-can-eat sizzling hot Fajitas every Friday, Saturday & Sunday! Chicken or Beef? Pork or Shrimp? The only answer is “Yes!”

Served sizzling on a cast iron skillet, the wrap-it-yourself favourite comes with unlimited flour tortillas and classic condiments of guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, and mixed Cheddar-Jack cheese.

A definite must-try is Santa Fe’s signature Classic Beef Fajitas. Instead of skirt steak (which was the original cut of meat used for fajitas in the 1930’s… more on that later), Santa Fe’s fajitas features high quality airflown ribeye seasoned with a secret blend of Fajita spices and grilled over an open flame. For an even more luxurious experience, go for our American Wagyu Beef Fajitas, which are on a total different level in flavour and tenderness.

Other fajitas available include Original Chicken, Pulled Pork, Cajun Spiced Shrimp, and a vegetarian option of Portobello Mushroom. Tip: Ask for half-portions of each fajita at a time, so you get to try them all! You can always call for seconds of your favourite fajitas once you’ve gotten through the entire list!

But, What Is A Fajita?

Fajitas (pronounced fa-hii-tas) originated in the 1930’s in the ranch lands of South and West Texas, where cows were butchered and trimmings of meat were given to the cowboys as part of their pay. After a hard day’s work, the men would gather around a simple fire to cook their allocations of meat on rugged cast iron pans or skillets.

While the meat trimmings and scraps apportioned to these cowboys might include part of the cow’s head, hide, and entrails, the most common and enjoyable cut of meat they were given to eat was the skirt steak – hence the name ‘Fajita’ which comes from the Spanish word ‘Faja’ which means belt or strip.

Today, fajitas can refer to any grilled meat served with flour or corn tortilla wraps, and usually comes with a variety of condiments such as pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream, as well as refried beans and spicy rice for Mexican fajitas, or copious amounts of shredded cheeses such as Colby Cheddar and Monterey Jack for a more Tex-Mex expression.

Our Location

Santa Fe Tex-Mex Grill is conveniently located in a cosy little shophouse along Purvis Street (opposite the National Library), just a short walk from the Beach Road office cluster and not too far from the rest of the central business district either.

While Santa Fe’s Purvis Street outlet is newly setup in June 2019, the restaurant is no stranger to the local Tex-Mex scene. Among the first to bring the cuisine to Singapore in 1999, Santa Fe has come to be known and loved for Texan-Mexican classics like Fajitas, Quesadillas and Chimichangas as well as American favourites like steaks and ribs. Visit us for a true-blue Tex-Mex dining experience!
